Paws, Claws, and Sparkles: Jewellery for Serious Animal Lovers 😏

Whenever you seek inspiration, let the nature guide you.

First, let’s start with music.

While listening to Berlioz (scored tickets for February—so excited!), I stumbled upon this fabulous Relaxed Jazz Night Playlist. There’s something undeniably magical about jazz—it feels like a warm, soulful hug. One day, I’d love to visit the birthplace of jazz itself: New Orleans, Louisiana.

From Jazz to Jewels:

Animals in jewellery date back to anciel civilizations, where they were not merely decorateive, but had a deep sybolic meaning. Take the Egyptians for example, they frequently used the scarab beetle in their jewellery, sybolizing rebirth and protection. Greeks and Romans on the other hand, favored animals that represented power and dtrength, such as lions, eables, and dolphins (fellow.co.uk)

This week’s edition is dedicated to vintage and contemporary brands creating stunning jewellery pieces inspired by animal motifs. While these designs may not always carry the symbolic meanings of ancient Egyptian or Greek jewellery, they remain undeniably captivating and beautifully crafted.

I recently shared two TikTok posts all about jewellery brands with animal motifs. If you haven’t seen them yet and prefer video over reading, check out Part I and Part II!

Vintage Jewellery Brands

My all-time top 3 favorite vintage jewellery brands known for their fabulous animal-inspired designs. These are examples of thing you can find on secondhand marektplace, but I think its more fun when you do digging yourself!

Kenneth Jay Lane

I’ve mentioned Kenneth in a previous newsletter, but I just have to bring him up again because I’m such a huge fan of his jewellery—especially since animals were his ultimate sweet spot. Take a look at these beauties:

Napier

If elephant is your favorite animal, then Napier is your go to brand.

Eisenberg

This one is a timeless blend of elegance and charm, often featuring animal motifs that captivate with their intricate details.

Now let’s move to contemporary brands.

Andres Gallardo

Introduced to me by my mom, it was love at first sight. Divine porcelain creations by a team that truly loves their craft. Besides jewellery, AG also makes bags featureing Rabbit and Cat creatures. One of a kind? Absolutely.

Nach Bijoux

These talented sisters create jewellery that speaks to animal lovers everywhere—covering almost every creature you can think of (yes, even a unicorn 😋). Their pieces are handmade and hand-painted, showcasing exquisite artisanal craftsmanship from France. Not into rings? No problem—explore their stunning selection of necklaces, bracelets, and earrings.

Essentiel Antwerp

Last up we’ve got EA. I think their mismatching earrings are particulary fun. They are quiet eclectic, but at the same time subtle. The perfect balance between of both worlds.

Fine Jewellery

That’s all for next week’s edition! I’ll be diving into classic pieces, ranging from budget-friendly finds to luxurious splurges—including zodiac signs (they count as animals too, right?).

As always, if there’s a specific category you’d like me to cover or any special requests, feel free to drop me an email at [email protected]. I’d love to hear from you!

Have a fabulous weekend,
