The Mavericks Edit, Vol.1
Welcome to the first official edition of The Mavericks Club.
Hello and welcome to the first edition of TMC. Let’s start with some music.
Falscher Hase has been one of the greatest musical gifts in my life. Introduced to me by a German friend I met in Spain at 16, it’s the gift that keeps on giving. This incredible DJ blends some of the best deep house, techno, and electronica tracks, creating mixes that are consistently amazing.
And here is my favorite soundtrack from Chanel Runway Spring Summer 2011 – Part 1 and Part 2, truly magical.
Moving on to brands.
This week’s 5 incredible fashion brands you should put on your radar:
Georgian designer Liliana Grigalashvili launched her brand at just 15, creating stunning, candy-like jewelry from polymer clay and Swarovski crystals. While her pieces are available through select stockists, the best way to get your hands on her creations is by reaching out to her directly on Instagram. She also offers custom orders, ensuring every piece is uniquely yours!

Founded by Belgian-born creative director - Stephanie D’heygere this accessories brand presents an inventive and thought-provoking pieces created in response to the currents of daily life, balancing form and function. 10/10 for creativity.
No one understands how much I love this brand. Founded in 2016 by Bailey Hunter, Tigra Tigra focuses on preserving and innovating handicraft textiles. Collaborating with mashroo weavers, dye masters, and embroidery artists in India, the brand emphasizes fair trade by allowing artisans to set their own prices and work independently. Everything they make is out of this world.

Jean-Charles de Castelbajac is a French-Moroccan designer known for fusing fashion with art, using bold prints and humorous motifs. You can find some of the most incredible pieces by JCDC on Etsy, eBay and 1stDibs.
Until I discovered this brand, I never imagined porcelain could be wearable. Launched in 2010, Andres Gallardo is transforming porcelain figures found in markets into unique jewelry pieces. Some of my favorite pieces by AG is this lip set and the cat head bag.

What makes these brands truly special is the compelling story behind each one—from their origin to their design philosophy and production methods. In a world where fast fashion dominates, we must relearn the art of falling in love with the clothes we buy—not just for the sake of the environment, but to give space for new creatives to thrive.
Their talent fosters the kind of creativity and innovation that often gets overshadowed, but is essential for the future of fashion.
2 movies to… inspire your fashion senses:
Movies have an endless ability to inspire. You’ve likely come across countless posts on "how to find or develop your personal style"—and they might have felt a bit off. That's because your personal style is a reflection of who you are: your lifestyle, dreams, preferences, music, and everyday choices. It's not something you have to chase or mold from social media trends; it grows with you naturally over time.
These films beautifully capture how your fashion sense, or style, evolves organically from the life you live, rather than something you impose on yourself. When you distance yourself from what's trendy and embrace what truly resonates with you, that uniqueness shines—and it's beautiful. Plus, these movies? They're genuinely fantastic.
A drought in 1970s Southern California has an unexpected side effect: as people empty their swimming pools, a group of teen surfers from the Dogtown area of Venice Beach move in with skateboards, and a new sport is born. Based on a true story, this film follows "Z-Boys" skate team members Stacy Peralta (John Robinson), Tony Alva (Victor Rasuk) and Jay Adams (Emile Hirsch), plus manager Skip Engblom (Heath Ledger), as their fearless "pool surfing" leads to fame, fortune -- and misfortune. – Wiki
A high-school boy in the early 1970s is given the chance to write a story for Rolling Stone magazine about an up-and-coming rock band as he accompanies them on their concert tour. – IMDb
Starting next week, I'll be rolling out a written version of my TikTok series "Get to Know a New Designer," where I’ll do a dive deep into some of my favorite brands and create long-form story coverage for each of them.
If you have any great brands you think I should feature, send them my way! I’m always on the lookout for creatives who deserve to be in the spotlight.
Wishing you a fabulous weekend, and see you next week!
Yours,
Bella
